Class 2 Digital Signature Certificate is a mid-range security device. They provide security for online transactions in India. DSC registering authorities issue it after they verify the applicant’s identity and consent. Users apply it for company registration, tax filing, annual compliances, and other less-sensitive digital activities. It confirms the user’s identity and ensures data remains secure and unchanged during transmission. Government agencies and companies require it for general digital contracts and communications. The Information Technology Act, 2000, grants it’s legal validity. By using this signature, individuals and organizations protect their digital interactions with robust authentication and encryption.

Note: Class 2 DSC is not in use now. The CCA department of the Government of India prescribes the use of Class 3 DSC instead of Class 2. Therefore, we will issue Class 3 DSC for all orders of Class 2 DSC. However, for the renewal of the IEC, we need a DGFT Digital Signature.

Class 2 Digital Signature Certificate Price

Class 2 DSC price starts from Rs 795/- only. However, with higher validity, the price can go up to Rs 3000/-. For exact pricing, refer to the table below.

Types of Class 2 Digital Signature Certificates

Class 2 Digital Signature Certificates come in two main types: Sign and Sign & Encrypt. The Sign certificate allows users to digitally sign documents, ensuring authenticity and integrity. Users often apply this type for filing tax returns, signing forms, and other legal purposes. The Sign & Encrypt certificate enables users to both sign and encrypt data, ensuring confidentiality along with authenticity. Organizations use this type for secure online bidding, e-tendering, and confidential document exchange. Certifying authorities issue these certificates after verifying the applicant’s identity and consent. These types help users protect digital data and confirm their identity in online transactions.

Application Process

To apply for this certificate, first fill out the application form. Select certificate type, validity period, applicant type, and whether you need a new USB token or not.  The price will vary according to the options the user selects. Then fill out the applicant’s name, mobile number and email ID field. The order note is an optional field for your reference. You may fill it in or skip it. Once all details are done, click on the ‘Add to cart’ button. Then go to the Cart or Checkout page to pay the fee and complete the application.

Verification Process

After making payment of the application fee, the system will generate an order number. You will receive an email with the order number and verification link. Sometimes you might receive an email to submit documents copy as per the notification of the CCA department of the Government of India. Our executives will assist you in the verification process after submission of your documents. Therefore, you must provide the correct mobile number on the checkout page.

Download Process

Once the verification is done successfully, we will approve the application. After approval, you can download the certificate into a valid HYP2003 token or dongle. Watch the following tutorial video to learn how to download a certificate into the HYP2003 token.
